چکیده

A thermodynamic model for the solubility of carbon dioxide (CO2) in pure water and in aqueous NaCl solutions for temperatures from 273 to 533 K, for pressures from 0 to 2000 bar, and for ionic strength from 0 to 4.3 m is presented. The model is based on a specific particle interaction theory for the liquid phase and a highly accurate equation of state for the vapor phase. With this specific interaction approach, this model is able to predict CO2 solubility in other systems, such as CO2–H2O– CaCl2 and CO2–seawater, without fitting experimental data from these systems. Comparison of the model predictions with experimental data indicates that the model is within or close to experimental uncertainty, which is about 7% in CO2 solubility. D 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. Prediction of Nitrogen Solubility in Pure Water and Aqueous NaCl Solutions up to High Temperature, Pressure, and Ionic Strength

A thermodynamic model for the solubility of nitrogen in pure water (273–623 K, 0–600 bar) and in aqueous NaCl solutions (0–4m, 273-473 K, 0–600 bar) is presented. The model is based on a specific interaction model for the liquid phase and a highly accurate equation of state for the vapor phase. Comparison of the model predictions with experimental data indicates that the model predictions are w...

Solubility of CO2 in Aqueous Solutions of Diethanolamine (DEA) and Choline Chloride

In this study, the solubility of CO2 in DEA in the presence and absence of choline chloride was reported at different temperatures of 276.15, 298.15, 313.15, and 333.15 K, and pressure range of 4-15 bar. The solubility of CO2 was evaluated using the pressure decay method in a batch isochoric stirred absorption cell. Also, the design of experiments performed with Qualitek-4 software using the Ta...

Investigating the Solubility of CO2 in the Solution of Aqueous K2CO3 Using Wilson-NRF Model

Hot potassium carbonate (PC) solution in comparison with amine solution had a decreased energy of regeneration and a high chemical solubility of . To present vapor and liquid equation (VLE) of this system and predict  solubility, the ion specific non-electrolyte Wilson-NRF local composition model (isNWN) was used in this study; the framework of this model was molecular. Therefore, it was suitab...

Correlation and Prediction of Solubility of CO2 in Amine Aqueous Solutions

The solubility of CO2 in the primary, secondary, tertiary and sterically hindered amine aqueous solutions at various conditions was studied. In the present work, the Modified Kent-Eisenberg (M-KE), the Extended Debye-Hückel (E-DH) and the Pitzer models were employed to study the solubility of CO2 in amine aqueous solutions. Two explicit equations are presented to evalu...

Temperature invariance of NaCl solubility in water: inferences from salt-water cluster behavior of NaCl, KCl, and NH4Cl.

The growth and stability of salt-water clusters have been experimentally studied in aqueous solutions of NaCl, KCl, and NH(4)Cl from dilute to near-saturation conditions employing dynamic light scattering and zeta potential measurements. In order to examine cluster stability, the changes in the cluster sizes were monitored as a function of temperature. Compared to the other cases, the average s...
